CNN anchorperson Gabriela Frias was invited by the organization Endeavor of Uruguay to launch this year's Entrepreneurship Week. The event was celebrated by a reception at the U.S. Ambassador's Residence on Nov. 18, 2008. During Global Entrepreneurship Week, governments and organizations worldwide will host events ranging from invention competitions to local entrepreneurship summits, all designed to jumpstart innovation and entrepreneurship, especially among young people. In targeting youth, the initiative's Uruguay sponsor, the Endeavor organization, hopes to inspire young people to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship, spotlighting how young people's ideas can contribute to global economic development, and giving them the tools to put those ideas into practice.
