The State Department's Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad program and the U.S. Embassy Montevideo presented a special performance by vocalist Roseanna Vitro and the JazzIAm Band at the Binational Center's Teatro Alianza, June 9, 2009 [VIDEO]. The group also performed in the city of Colonia on Saturday, May 6. U.S. Chargé D'Affaires Robin Matthewman welcomed the guests to both events. -- Launched in 2005 in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad has already sent 108 musicians from 28 jazz, urban or American roots music ensembles to 89 countries.
