Welcome to the Consular Section of the United
States Embassy in Uruguay. The Consular Section has three principal
sections:
AMERICAN CITIZENS
SERVICES
The American Citizens Services Section of the United States Embassy
in Uruguay provides assistance to American citizens in Uruguay.
American citizens can request passports, register their children
born outside the United States (in Uruguay), and ask for help
in emergency cases. We also legalize documents for use in the
United States. The Unit of Federal Benefits assists the beneficiaries
of Social Security and other Federal Agencies.
NON- IMMIGRANT VISA SECTION
Welcome to the Non-Immigrant Visa Section of the United States
Embassy in Uruguay. Thank you for your interest in visiting the
United States. The majority of the people that wish to visit the
United States and are not qualified to travel under the Visas
Waiver Program must apply and obtain a non-immigrant visa before
initiating their travel. If you are applying for a non-immigrant
visa we recommend you to read carefully the information under
section “Instructions on how to apply for a non-immigrant
visa”, which explains the process to apply for a non-immigrant
visa, and states the requirements needed. The information in this
Web page has been designed to help you understand the process
of applying for a non-immigrant visa and will allow you to be
better prepared for your interview.
IMMIGRANT VISA SECTION

in Uruguay. Our office processes all categories of immigrant visas.
We invite our immigrant visa applicants to consult the “Immigrant
