Human Dignity (CeProDiH) works to help those who are disadvantaged
return to a productive life
U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao arrived
in Uruguay yesterday heading a presidential delegation that
will represent President George W. Bush at the Uruguayan
Presidential Inauguration today. The U.S. delegation includes
Ambassador to Uruguay Martin J. Silverstein and Ms. Marilyn
Ware of Pennsylvania who will join Secretary Chao for the
official inaugural events.
Before attending the ceremonies, Secretary
Chao visited a Uruguayan non-governmental organization,
"Centro de Promoción por la Dignidad Humana," or Center
for the Promotion of Human Dignity (CeProDiH), a shelter
that works with homeless children, the elderly, and abused
women, in an effort to help those who are disadvantaged
return to a productive life in Uruguayan society.
