ART IN THE EMBASSY

ESPAŅOL

IVONNE PRENOL

The Art in the Embassy Program offers Embassy staff and visitors the possibility to enjoy original art by Uruguayan plastic artists through monthly exhibitions held in the lobby of the Embassy.

Ivonne Prenol was born in Montevideo. She began her painting career in 1978. She enrolled in the Pepe Montes art studio and completed a course on Enrique Badaró. She also attended the Anna Rank workshop.

She studied Art History at the Casa de la Cultura in Montevideo, and participated in Permanent Educaction courses at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes institute.

She is a member of the Visual Artists (APEU) Commission and will soon be joining the Uruguay Cultural Foundation for the Arts in Washington.

Many of her paintings have been acquired by private collectors and cultural institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Venezuela, Uruguay, and the U.S.



The Cultural Affairs Office is responsible for organizing and implementing the Art in the Embassy Program.
